Fundraising Ideas
At High Peak Community Arts, we envision a community where everyone feels the arts belong to them, that it’s not exclusive or something they can’t afford.
Increasingly, we’re depending on donations and regular support from people across the High Peak to keep our vision alive.
What Your Donation Achieves
- £10 – Helps with the small but essential things
Contributes to expenses such as paper, pens, clay, fabric and refreshments – the everyday materials that keep creative sessions running.
- £25 – Supports a creative session or a participant
Contributes to support worker fees to ensure participants get the help they need to take part fully, safely and confidently.
- £50+ – what it provides
Contributes towards venue costs, allowing us to provide safe, welcoming and accessible spaces for workshops, groups and community projects.
You could get creative by organising your own event.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
Event Ideas
- Raffle – Reaching out to businesses for something to raffle off is always a low-cost and fun way to raise funds.
- Blind art swap — Guests could donate one small piece anonymously; buyers pay a flat fee to pick a mystery artwork.
- Doodle auction — Artists submit quick, casual doodles (think 10-minute sketches).
- Creative karaoke night — Artists perform outside their comfort zone — painters do stand-up, writers do life drawing, musicians do poetry. Entry fee goes to the cause.
- Collaborative round-robin artwork — One canvas gets passed around; each guest adds something in 5 minutes. The finished piece is raffled off, and the whole thing becomes a fun shared memory.
- Trivia night with a creative twist — Host a pub quiz with rounds themed around art, music, film, and design.
- Costume or character parade — Charge entry, add a costume contest, and let the community enjoy it together.
- Bake sale with a creative twist — think character cakes, illustrated biscuits, or abstract icing.
- Take a hike – Take advantage of the surroundings and organise a sponsored hike in the High Peak, tackling an iconic route like Kinder Scout or Mam Tor. You could also seek out local businesses willing to support your cause.
