‘Uplifting Nature’

Join us to celebrate and unveil these beautiful ceramic sculptures made by Project eARTh participants with artist Elaine Lim-Newton. They have been designed especially for Haddon Hall Care Home’s garden, to give brightness and colour, even in the depths of winter. Monday 21st May, 10.30am. Free event. Tall Tales Returns!

The Tall Tales music and arts sessions return!! Thanks to our new Youth Music grant these popular sessions are back – so if you are age 8+ come down to learn instruments, jam together, write songs, stories, make art and work together!! See image and calendar on the right hand side for the upcoming dates!

Film Cuts Club presents Z-Go!

The brand new film from the Film Cuts Club will be appearing for screenings this summer.

Felt squirrel

Sunday July 15th: 

Felt your own unique cushion from High Peak fleece, using the wet felting technique and resist templates. Choose from a variety of natural coloured wool for the base and add a design using hand-dyed High Peak wool.

 

PREVIOUSLY…!

DYE TO DROP SPINDLE

Saturday 23rd June:  Card Peak District wool using hand carders and drum carders.  Dye carded and uncarded wool.

Sunday 24th June:  Have a go at spinning your dyed wool, using a drop spindle.  Use this ancient and simple tool to create some experimental yarns.  Create singles and ply them.  Take home a skein of wool and a drop spindle.

Prices: £65 for one day to include refreshments, lunch and all materials.

£60 per day if you book three days or more.

10% Discount for ‘Friends of High Peak Community Arts’ (become a Friend by donating £2 or more per month). Proceeds all go towards our targeted project work in arts and health, or with young people.

Fused Glass at Corbar View

The Buxton group have made three fused glass panels for a meeting room and for Doctor Walker’s consultation room at Corbar View in Buxton. With artist Alex Blakey.

Ceramic and Felted Bird Boxes

The bird boxes made in this project have been given to venues and organisations across the High peak – so keep your eyes open- e.g. at Poole’s Cavern in Buxton, St. Luke’s Church in Glossop…With artists Caroline Chouler Tissier and Carol Wilson.

Hidden Worlds – silk painted  wallhangings

The Buxton group created a set of three beautiful silk painted and tie dyed wall hangings for the URC church in Buxton, Hardwick Square East. With artist Lesley Ann Withers.

Orchard Textiles – printing, applique and embroidery

The New Mills group made beautiful hand – printed, appliqued and embroidered curtains for High Lee Hall, in High Lea Park, New Mills. With artist Amanda Whewell.
