Advice and Information

We're here to help people to participate in the arts. We can offer advice and encouragement to anyone who wants to develop a community arts project.

We work with community groups and agencies to develop projects - making a promotional film or an interactive CD for example - according to your needs.

Public workshops

We offer a wide range of imaginative project-based public workshops run by some of the region's best arts facilitators. We're committed to quality and to individual learning.

There's the chance to develop new skills or undertake your own project.

Media Arts Centre

The Media Arts Centre in New Mills provides arts resources for local communities that are not available elsewhere in the region.

Facilities at the Centre include fast new computers, networking, scanning, printing, broadband, and a full range of industry standard software, digital stills and video cameras. lighting, sound recording and post-production studio, musical instruments, and a wide range of cameras.

We also have a range of traditional arts resources such as printing, painting and textiles and information on the local and national art news plus community arts and fundraising.

Membership of High Peak Community Arts puts all the centre's facilities at your disposal.

Access

The Media Arts Centre at High Lee Hall is accessible by wheelchair. There is a range of accessibility options for computers. A hearing loop is available for meetings. Please contact us to check for any specific requirements.
